Free hosting is nice not only for new comers these days but also just personal sites in the long run if you do not have a method for payment available. Like frihost which I have used for quite some time and fusionxhost in example there are a couple more stable and free hosts which offer a decent amount of bandwidth, storage and all without advertisement :).
Payment these days on hosting doesn’t instantly guarantee quality anymore whereas free hosting would be of a poor quality as it used to be a long time ago.

Definitely they are very good hosts…but I would also love to add 2 more to this list…
www.ahplace.com
and www.forums.fusionxhost.com
Both are post based hosting! Both have excellent community support and very good infrastructure to offer stable hosting.
Definitely useful for newbies.

Been thinking about signing up for a free host or two, but it seems everytime I decide, the host I was going to sign up with goes bankrupt or starts to charge! i do have a pay site, but it would be cool to get some “crappy” domains hosted on a free site as mini sites
These lists need to always be updated… thanks for this list!

Nice. Freehosting without ads is my preference, but you still can’t beat paid.
